“I’ve always daydreamed about having pictures shot there”

This little hideaway… I’ve driven past it probably 50 times, didn’t even know it was there. But when Avery asked about it as a potential location she said that it felt like a magical little spot, and those are the magic words for me.

The sunlight poured down, reflecting off the cliffside and glinting off the smooth river rocks. The lush green trees softened our view, contrasting against the grays and blacks of the stone. The turquoise water flowed by, majestic and powerful and smooth and gentle all at once.

I’ve heard it said that you fall in love with the mountain when you stand by its river. What better place to celebrate this Alaskan baby than the very spot that will one day be his playground?

Megan Marlene Photography specializes in motherhood & family photography in the greater Anchorage area. My natural light studio is a warm, lovely space for maternity, newborn, and baby sessions and my golden field and mountainside locations are perfect for family sessions. I welcome families from Anchorage, Eagle River, JBER, Girdwood, Chugiak, Palmer, Wasilla, Big Lake, and from across Alaska and the lower 48.
