The last outdoor family photography session of the winter is bittersweet. On one hand, you’re so very excited for spring to arrive and for the woods and mountains and fields to come back to life. But there’s a part that is just a wee bit sad, too, because, after a long, hard, cold winter, it’s finally perfect.

The temps are warm so you don’t need a coat, the snow is just the right depth for little legs, and the sun is setting late enough so sessions don’t have to take place at 2 in the afternoon.

I love the March winter sessions. They are all kinds of beautiful and the perfect way to capture the snowy season we love without getting frostbite. I know ALL the best places for photos that give you gorgeous mountain views, golden sun, wide open spaces, dark evergreens, and all the things we love about Alaska. And they’re easy to get to, as well!

(And if someone wanted to squeeze in one more session before it all melts away, I suppose that I could be persuaded….😉)
