You know, every sibling responds differently when welcoming a new baby to the family. Some are over the moon excited and almost won’t let anyone else hold the baby, while others won’t touch the baby with a 10ft pole, which makes sibling newborn photography a little difficult. So that’s why I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We’ll put special stickers on baby’s blanket for brother or sister to find, hide a toy in the basket or under a pillow, have my camera-bunny play peek-a-boo for distraction, sing the silliest of songs in my silliest of voices, and don’t forget about my red nose that likes to fall off when I (pretend) sneeze. And I’m not above hiding gummy snacks for some instant gratification because while he’s looking for that yummy snack, he’s also giving some love & attention to this new baby brother. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

And for siblings that aren’t quite ready to hold the new baby independently and won’t stay still enough for sitting or lying down, the Moses basket gives a safe place for baby to sleep while we gently coax big brother into a sweet picture of the two of them together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
