Do you know which sessions are my absolute favorites? The ones where I’m photographing MY family and those most near and dear to my heart. And in this anchorage newborn session, that adorable little guy is my brand-new baby nephew, Daniel. And those are the rest of my nieces and nephews (aka “the Cousins”).

Growing up, I only had two cousins, one older and one younger, and that’s it for both sides of the family. Meanwhile, my husband still has no idea how many cousins he actually has- seems like we meet a new one every year! Now, thanks to many Aunties and Uncles, our children have thirteen cousins… and counting! And half of them live right here in the Matsu-Valley, which makes for some pretty great playdates and birthday parties.

I’m so grateful to have family nearby, something I didn’t experience growing up, and these cousins are basically like extra siblings for my own kids. And I love that I’ve been able to photograph so many of them as newborns. Each one of them is completely unique and so.much.fun. the older and older they get. I’m excited for them to grow up, but man, Auntie loves these baby cuddles.
