I adore this family so much and we lucked into the *perfect* evening out at Reflection Lake for their outdoor family photography session. The sky was blue with just the right amount of cotton candy clouds, the sun was warm, the grass was green and lush, the water was still and living up to its name, the mountains were majestic, and there was even a slight breeze to keep the skeeters at bay. 

Little miss started the evening not at all impressed with the beautiful evening we orchestrated for her, but that soon changed when mom and dad revealed the secret to making her laugh- sneezes! So this gal was (fake) sneezing her head off all evening long. *achoo!* *achoo!*

Now, usually, a fake sneeze is a surefire way to get a smile or a two, but let me tell you, holding the camera still during a sneeze is not very easy. Try it a couple of hundred times, though, and you get pretty good at it!

We were starting our last couple of pictures when dad asked if we could walk around the point to take pictures of the mountains from the other angle. Um.. yes! When you have to hike to the photo spot, you KNOW it’s going to be good.

It took about 10-15min to walk around the lake but we just chatted along the way and once we got here, it was 100% worth the “hike”. (And I was only slightly winded. The wheezing was from.. um.. all the fresh air. yeah. that.)

Never think that it’s a crazy idea. We photographers love crazy ideas. It means you are excited and invested in your photos and envisioning how to make this art even more special for your family. I promise, we are SO on board for that.
