When planning a one year milestone, parents often choose to incorporate a Cake Smash session in addition to the classic baby photos. When doing both, we start with the classic photos while baby is clean and fresh, and then we save the cake smash photos (i.e. the mess) for the end! This allows us to give lots of variety in the gallery and present something that is reflective of the child’s personality and a true celebration of the much-anticipated first birthday milestone.

For Liv’s one milestone, we went with a light & airy look, from the tulle skirt her mommy picked out, to the delicate how and halo. And for her cake smash, mom picked out a daisy theme and we paired the softs whites and creamy yellows with muted greens and a splash of mint from my beloved vintage high chair. The effect was completely charming and oh-so-pretty, just like Liv.
