While visiting in the south this winter, I was able to take some very special pregnancy announcement pictures for my baby brother & sister-in-law. I’m so excited to take her maternity pictures in a few months when they visit Alaska and to welcome a new nephew this summer.

This golden announcement session took place right at sunset when the light is fading by the second but is all kinds of warm and gorgeous. Smith Springs Park outside of Nashville, TN provided the most beautiful location, with Percy Priest Lake as the backdrop.

Before the session, I went over to their house to help get things ready and got to first-hand witness the sheer panic of trying to put together your own outfits for pictures. Nothing looked right or fit right, or so it seemed. But within five minutes I had these two outfits put together and it the perfect complement to the woodsy tones and golden hues. It’s why the studio wardrobe and styling are so important when planning a session. I help plan and prep to take all the stress out of choosing what to wear so you’re relaxed and excited for our session. Instead of second-guessing your outfits, you can focus on enjoying these memories we’re creating together.

And yes, their furbabies joined in on the fun and we just had to recreate the classic scene from 101 Dalmations!
