Fall is probably my favorite season (or at least tied). Specifically, my favorite time of year is July 15-September 15. I love the warmth of summer, golden sunsets, long days but with just enough night to view the stars, the evenings getting cool enough to sit by a campfire, and the leaves changing color so very vividly but still comfortable enough that I don’t have to pull out the heavy coats just yet. And that’s when it’s the very best time for family pictures, too. These first of fall sessions are so fun and playful (and warm!) with the most gorgeous of backdrops.

It’s been a minute since I’ve seen this family. Both girls were so little and now they’re quite grown up. Time flies, ya’ll. Here we’ve been saying every year that we need to get some updated pictures soon but then life would happen, the season would pass, and oh well, we’ll try for next year. Meanwhile, the kids keep on growing. Time keeps on ticking. Life doesn’t wait.

But this year, we were determined. I kept bugging mom. Mom kept bugging me. And we MADE.IT.HAPPEN.

And it’s beautiful.
